LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – A couple of months ago, a cross section of Directors of Missions from across the country were invited to the North American Mission Board (NAMB) for an "Associational Think Tank" regarding the assignment given by the Southern Baptist Convention to NAMB for associations. The goal was to receive input so that as a new leader was selected, someone could be found that would have the gifts and the background to accomplish those things that DoM’s felt were important to service associations so that they could more effectively service their churches. There were hours and hours of discussion and input during the "Associational Think Tank." One request of the group was that associational ministry be elevated to the level of being represented by a Senior Consultant, with the authority and influence similar to others representing significant ministries at NAMB.
